CUSTOMER:

Major Medical Manufacturer.

PROBLEM:

Assemble a butterfly cannula automatically at a rate of 40 parts per minute.

SOLUTION:

Develop a multi-dial assembly process with sub-assemblies being produced and merged together before final packaging.

SPECIAL CONSIDERATIONS:

The loading of the molded butterfly bases required interfacing with their existing molding system.
Tubing station had to be capable of feeding and cutting variable lengths of tubing.
The adhesive applied required a UV light source for curing.
A retaining band had to be applied around the wound assembly.

EQUIPMENT FURNISHED:

 Four (4) rotary indexers mounted to a common machine base.
 Three (3) vibratory feeders, multiple pick & place units, tubing & strapping feeders.
 One (1) Allen-Bradley control system complete with Panel View diagnostics.
